Terms of Service
The short version: it is your résumé, and we help you write it.
Last updated October 2026
The agreement
These terms cover your use of Inkwell. By creating an account and using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, the service is not for you.
Your account
You need an account to write and save documents. Give us an email address you actually read, keep your password to yourself, and remember that activity under your account is your responsibility. One account per person, and you must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live.
Your documents stay yours
Everything you write in Inkwell belongs to you, and you can take it with you as a PDF. You give us permission to store your documents and show them back to you, and to send the text you choose to our AI provider to produce the draft you asked for. We claim no ownership of your résumé, your cover letter, or your career.
Free and Pro
The free plan includes the full editor, all four templates and a monthly allowance of AI writing. Pro is a paid monthly subscription that lifts those limits. The current price and exactly what each plan includes are shown on our pricing page and again at checkout, and the charge is handled by Base44 Payments.
Pro renews monthly until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from the upgrade page — after cancelling you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account returns to the free plan. If something goes wrong with a payment, write to us through the contact form and we will sort it out.
What the AI does, and what it does not promise
The AI writer produces drafts from the information you give it. It is a writing aid, not a fact-checker: it never invents employers or numbers on purpose, but you are responsible for reading what it writes and making sure every claim about your experience is true and accurate. We cannot promise that a résumé leads to an interview or a job, and we do not claim to.
Acceptable use
Use Inkwell for your own career. Do not upload anything unlawful or anything you have no right to share, do not pretend to be someone else, do not resell the service, and do not attempt to break it, overload it, or get around the limits of the free plan. Accounts used that way may be suspended.
Our side of the table
The service itself — the editor, the templates, the design and the brand — stays ours. We work to keep Inkwell running and to fix problems quickly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change or retire features as the product develops.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from the upgrade page, and your documents go with it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where it is practical we will tell you why.
Limits
Inkwell is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by agreement.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, this page changes with them and the date at the top is updated. Questions about any of it — use the contact form. See also our Privacy Policy.
